Disability Insurance

State employees have the option to purchase disability insurance.

Short-term Disability

Employee cost is based on monthly salary as of September 1 or date of employment, if later. Provides up to 66% of salary to maximum benefit of $6,600/month for up to five months after 30 days or exhaustion of sick leave whichever is greater. Offsets for other sources of income.

Long-term Disability

Employee cost is based on monthly salary as of September 1 or date of employment, if later. Provides up to 60% of salary to maximum benefit of $6,000/month after 180 days or exhaustion of sick leave whichever is greater. Offsets for other sources of income.
