Public Information Request

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is committed to transparency and providing access to public information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act. You can request information by e-mail, U.S. mail, hand delivery, or electronic submission through the TDCJ website.

Before you submit your request, please review the following for information that may be readily available:

General inmate information
High Value Data Sets (Excel)
Seeking medical records
Correctional Managed Health Care policies

Subpoenas: Not a public information request; must be sent to direct office of record.

NOTE: Inmate phone and visitation records are NOT releasable under the Public Information Act.
