Online Visitation Portal Instructions

Go to https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/.

NOTE: Use of this system is restricted to residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Click the "Create an Account" link

Enter a valid e-mail address and press Submit button

If the following screen displays, your email has been sent. If you are directed to the Login Page, return to the page to enter your email address.

Check your e-mail for a message from "TDCJ Visitation"

Copy the "key" in the e-mail and click the link at the bottom of the e-mail

Enter your e-mail address and the key. create a password

Answer all the background questions. Click box next to "I have completed the above questions" and click "Submit"

Click the "Edit My Profile" link to complete your profile

Enter your information. All fields are required except middle initial and alternate phone number

Once your profile is complete, you may look up an inmate and add them to your profile by clicking the "Add Inmate" button

When the pop-up window displays, you can search by either a TDCJ or SID number

If the search result is the correct inmate, select the relationship from the dropdown menu, then click "Request Approval"

Until the relationship is approved by the unit, the relationship will appear in the "Pending Approval" section

When approved, the relationship will move to the "Verified Inmate Relations" section

As units start using the online visit scheduler, the "Schedule Visit" button will display

Once all selection are made on the scheduling page, click the box next to "I have reviewed my selections and wish to schedule this visit", then click the "Schedule Visit" button

When the visit has been successfully scheduled, a "visit Scheduled" message will display on your screen
