TDCJ Partners with Abilene Christian University to Provide Tuition Discount for State Employees and Officials
October 21, 2024
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and Abilene Christian University (ACU) are excited to announce their new partnership to offer a tuition discount for affiliated agency employees on all of ACU Online’s undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs.
To bolster the TDCJ’s statewide efforts and mission to serve Texas citizens, ACU will encourage continuing education by providing a ten percent (10%) discount on tuition to all TDCJ employees interested in pursuing a degree with ACU Online. Once interested applicants meet ACU’s admission standards, TDCJ employees will receive the discounted tuition rate from initial enrollment through the duration of their degree or certificate program.
“We are honored to partner with Abilene Christian University on this important initiative,” said TDCJ Executive Director Bryan Collier. “Providing our hardworking employees an opportunity to further their education ultimately strengthens our workforce and the safety and security of our great state.”
This partnership will offer ACU’s diverse array of programs to state employees to aid them in earning their undergraduate or graduate degree in programs specific to their line of work, as well as provide professional certificates to advance their capabilities further.
“ACU is committed to finding ways to support our state and its various departmental divisions, including law enforcement officers, criminal justice professionals, and local officials,” said Dr. Matt Daniel, associate vice president of partnership development for ACU’s Dallas campus. “By offering practical and applicable degree programs at a discounted rate, this partnership not only advances state employees’ level of education but also promotes ACU’s vision for academic excellence and vocational mission in Texas.”
Through this groundbreaking partnership, ACU is opening new doors for every aspiring student interested in furthering their education to better serve the state and its citizens.
