TDCJ Launches IMPACT Consortium to Enhance Corrections Transparency

February 4, 2026

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is excited to announce the formation of the IMPACT Consortium, an advisory body aimed at fostering collaboration between stakeholders to advance understanding, safety and transparency within corrections and community supervision.

The IMPACT (Inmate Management, Partnership for Accountability, Collaboration, and Transparency) Consortium will consist of seven members: one representative each from the Office of Family Services, the Office of the Independent Ombudsman, the Chief of Staff, and the Correctional Institutions Division, as well as one at-large member and two members from advocate organizations. Selected representatives will serve for six months. During this timeframe, the advisory board will meet twice to discuss and develop practical recommendations to support informed decision-making, enhance public safety and promote continuous improvement within TDCJ.

“The IMPACT Consortium highlights our commitment to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve our common goals of providing public safety, creating a positive environment focused on rehabilitation, and protecting those who work and live in our facilities,” TDCJ Chief of Staff Rachelle White said.

Advocate organizations interested in participating are encouraged to complete the registration form by February 11, 2026. The form includes sections for registration, nomination of individuals to serve on the consortium, and submission of up to two suggestions for the board’s initial term.

Following the registration period, the Office of Family Services will compile a list of nominees and distribute it to registered advocate organizations for voting. Once the voting concludes, appointments will be finalized, and selected members will be notified.

For questions regarding the registration process or the IMPACT Consortium, please contact the Office of Family Services.
