Public Information Act Requests

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) has designated the Office of the General Counsel as the recipient of all requests under the Public Information Act.

Before you submit your request, please review the following for information that may be readily available:

General inmate information

Seeking medical records

Correctional Managed Health Care policies

Subpoenas: Not a public information request; must be sent to direct office of record.

NOTE: Inmate phone and visitation records are NOT releasable under the Public Information Act.
