Services Offered: The ARK Program helps parents learn to be more accepting of themselves, which empowers them to give and receive unconditional love. Initially assisting female offenders incarcerated at the Plane State Jail, in Dayton, Texas, this program continues its efforts through an aftercare program that works with the families once the parent is out of prison and reunited with their children. Services in the aftercare may include continued parenting classes and referrals to area resources to assist in the transition from prison to community.

Services Offered: Through aggressive and innovative academic enrichment and mentoring, the academy works to build dreams of children with a family history of incarceration and those falling behind in school; and to provide the tools that they need to achieve their dreams. Located in the Third Ward Multi-Service Center, the program offers after-school access to computers, and tutorial and remedial after-school education. Children in the program work each day on areas in which they are struggling academically and meet with their individual mentor once a week after school. The hours of operation for this program are 3 – 7 p.m., Monday – Friday.
