Administrative Review & Risk Management Division
Court Administration Office
The mission of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Court Administration Office is to ensure an efficient and effective system for coordinating and supporting the judicial process for county, state, and federal courts.
The agency’s court administrator serves as the central coordinator and manager of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Virtual Court Program. This role ensures that incarcerated individuals connect securely to court-ordered virtual hearings, minimizing delays and disruptions to the judicial process and an inmate’s participation in programs and other rehabilitative services.
The Virtual Court Program provides critical support to the justice system by improving access to courts, reducing transportation and security costs, enhancing safety, and delivering a dependable and consistent program that allows individuals to participate in court proceedings from within a secure facility.
The Court Administrator’s Office is committed to:
- Maintaining seamless, professional operations that meet the needs of the judiciary, agency staff, the incarcerated individuals and their legal representatives;
- Fostering strong, collaborative relationships between TDCJ and judicial stakeholders; and
- Implementing innovative, solution-oriented strategies to reduce logistical barriers and improve overall program effectiveness.
