Denetra Elder Named Reentry and Integration Division Manager III for Reentry Programs
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is pleased to announce the selection of Denetra Elder for Reentry and Integration Division Manager III for Reentry Programs.
Ms. Elder holds her bachelor’s degree from Texas College in business administration and organizational management. She honorably discharged from the United States Army in 2010. Ms. Elder’s experience includes working in the Smith County Jail, Gregg County Sherriff’s Office, Dallas County Sherriff’s Office, and she transitioned to working as an institutional parole officer for the Board of Pardons and Parole.
In 2017 she joined the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a contract monitor for the Private Facilities Contract Oversight Division and in 2020 became a regional supervisor for the Reentry and Integration Division. Ms. Elder has been a leader during her time at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She has become a certified contract manager, served on the compliance assessment teams during the COVID-19 pandemic, and managed her region effectively.
