ITD Employee Volunteers in Time of Need
Community matters now more than ever. During recent events, many people lost power and electricity causing many to go without hot meals to eat. Operation BBQ Relief providing plates of pulled pork, green beans, and a slice of bread to each family that stopped by.
Peyton Randolph of the TDCJ Information Technology Division volunteered and helped them distribute a total of 3,000 meals and thousands of cases of water to local Texans.
The City of Houston Fire Chief, Samuel Peña, jumped in to help out.
With the help of the volunteers and community 9,000 meals are distributed over two days, and Mayor Turner delivered what was estimated to be the nine millionth meal ever given by Operation BBQ Relief.
