The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles is committed to making its Web site accessible to all users. The Board and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) work in a collaborative effort to make the site more accessible. There are several features included in the design to improve accessibility for users with disabilities. Some of these features are described below.
A descriptive text equivalent (alt tag) is provided for images and other non-text elements, aiding users who listen to the content of the site by using a screen reader.
Data tables are provided with content summaries in table headers to ensure accessibility devices operate smoothly.
Special reports and other publications on the website are generally available as accessible HTML or in tagged Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). A link for a free download of Adobe PDF Reader is provided.
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles welcomes comments on how to improve the site's accessibility for users with disabilities. Please contact the TDCJ Web Accessibility Coordinator with any suggestions at webadmin@tdcj.texas.gov
