Barbee to become director of Research and Development
TDCJ is pleased to announce the selection Andrew Barbee as the Director VI of Research and Development effective October 7, 2019.
Andrew has over 20 years significant experience in the field of governmental research and data analyses, 10 of which have been with the Council of State Governments Justice Center as a Senior Research Associate, Research Manager and his latest role as a Research Director. His additional experience includes Research Specialist for the Texas Office of Court Administration, Manager for Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Research Specialist for the Texas Criminal Justice Policy Council.
Mr. Barbee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from St. Edwards University and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. Andrew’s extensive history in governmental research and development will serve him well in this position.
