Jordan Chapel Builders
After a decade-long journey, the Jordan Chapel Builders realized their dream when on June 8, 2010, they attended the ground breaking ceremony for the new chapel to be constructed on the Rufe Jordan Unit in Pampa, Texas. Fundraising for the new building began in 2000 with Jordan Chapel Builders spearheading the effort. Because of their commitment to this great cause, they were able to raise nearly one million dollars to construct and furnish the new 225-seat chapel. The chapel will provide a sanctuary for programs and services offered by the TDCJ chaplaincy program. Dedication of the new chapel is scheduled for May 2011. For their contribution and investment in the moral rehabilitation and successful reentry of offenders, Jordan Chapel Builders has been selected to receive the honorable Chaplaincy Department volunteer award.
