John Vaughn, Correctional Institutions Division
John Vaughn is a decorated veteran having served 22 years in the United States Army. He has also served ten (10) years as a TDCJ volunteer. John leads a team of men into the prisons to minister to offenders. His charismatic personality and positive outlook has been a tremendous influence to the offender population and to the staff on the unit. His expression of sincere care and concern for the offenders has helped them develop a sense of renewed hope for their lives. The success of his work is evident by classes that are full, worship services that are packed and in the transformed lives of the offenders. Because of his commitment to prison ministry, John Vaughn has been selected as the recipient for the TDCJ Correctional Institutions Division Award.
