Corrective Intervention Pre-Release Program

The mission of the Corrective Intervention Pre-Release Program (CIPP) is to prepare the inmate participants for their transition from the restrictive housing environment to living in their respective communities and leading a productive lifestyle.

Program Overview:

The Corrective Intervention Pre-Release Program (CIPP) is a 120-day program that offers inmates assigned to restrictive housing with interventions utilizing motivational interviewing techniques. The program curriculum is designed for the inmates to begin to build awareness about the thinking and attitudes that have impacted their choices and to focus on strategies to increase their ability to make different choices in the future. Any restrictive housing inmates that are not enrolled in another pre-release program will be enrolled in the CIPP.

The 120-day curriculum includes a workbook-based cognitive change program designed for in-cell use along with computer technology that allows for classroom style interaction with the staff. In addition, the program provides inmate re-entry planning that includes family and community support systems.

Program Highlights:

  • Cognitive behavior interventions
  • Computer based programming
  • Resume and job interview skills training
