Family Connection for Terminally Ill Offenders Kept Through FaceTime
Every smile; every laugh; every moment spent with loved ones is precious. That’s especially true for Michael and Trina Riley, who have not had the chance to experience those moments in recent months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Rehabilitation Programs Division (RPD) and the Chaplaincy Department, the Riley’s and 114 other families with terminally-ill loved ones finally received that opportunity through FaceTime facilitated by RPD and unit chaplains.
The vital key to successful rehabilitation for offenders during and after incarceration begins with the family support system. We aim to keep that intact.
