Bobby Lumpking Named Director of Correctional Institutions Division
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is pleased to announce the selection of Bobby Lumpkin as the Correctional Institutions Division Director.
Mr. Lumpkin has over 29 years of experience with the TDCJ starting his career as a Correctional Officer in 1990 and promoting through the security ranks to Assistant Warden. In 2003, Mr. Lumpkin was promoted to the Administrative Review and Risk Management Division, serving as the agency American Correctional Association Accreditation Monitoring/Oversight Division. In 2013, he was promoted to Division Director of the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Logistics Division. Mr. Lumpkin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University.
Mr. Lumpkin brings strong operational experience and proven leadership to his new role and will serve the agency well. Mr. Lumpkin will begin his new role immediately in tandem with Mrs. Lorie Davis as she makes her transition to retirement later this month.
