Rest In Peace Warden Morris Jones
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice sends our condolences to the family of long-time Senior Warden Morris Jones who has died.
Jones was 75 years old and retired from the agency in April 1998.
His 30-year career with TDCJ began in August 1968 as a Correctional Officer at what is now the Scott Unit in Angleton. In May 1970, he was assigned to the Wynne Unit in Huntsville where he became a Major in March 1976. In February 1981 he became an Assistant Warden at the Jester Unit in Richmond and then a Senior Warden at the Jester III Unit in June 1983. In September 1993 he became the Senior Warden at the Huntsville Unit from which he retired in April 1998.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice extends its sympathies and condolences to Jones’ family, friends and former colleagues within the agency.
