Guerrero becomes deputy director of CID Management Operations
Eric Guerrero will take over as deputy director for TDCJ’s Correctional Institutions Division Management Operations, effective December 15. CID Management Operations oversees Correctional Training and Staff Development, Plans and Operations, the Safe Prisons/PREA Management Office and the Security Threat Group Management Office.
Guerrero began his TDCJ career in 1994 as a correctional officer at the McConnell Unit and advanced through the security ranks, eventually serving as senior warden on several units. In 2013 Guerrero was promoted to director of CID Region VI, where he was responsible for operational management of 18 correctional facilities in the Gatesville area. Three years later, Guerrero moved to his most recent position as director of CID Correctional Training and Staff Development.
Lorie Davis, director of TDCJ’s Correctional Institutions Division, welcomed Guerrero and expressed her confidence in his selection: “Eric has over 25 years of correctional experience, along with a vast knowledge and commitment to the agency that will serve the division well. Please join me in congratulating him as he assumes his new role with the agency.”
