Cogbill promoted to RID deputy director
Sherri Cogbill has been selected as deputy director of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Reentry and Integration Division (RID). RID works with TDCJ divisions and departments, as well as external agencies and groups, to develop an integrated resource support system for offenders as they transition back into society.
During her TDCJ career, Sherri has held a variety of positions with multiple agency divisions to include Reentry and Integration, Parole and the Community Justice Assistance divisions. Most recently, Cogbill served as Manager III for RID Support Operations, where she oversaw multiple operational activities including grant acquisition and employment initiatives. In her new role as deputy director, Sherri will manage the Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI) program, the verification and identification processing unit, and budget sections.
RID Division Director April Zamora praised Cogbill’ s selection, saying, “Sherri’s experience and knowledge will serve the Reentry and Integration Division well and compliment the agency’s mission and core values. Please join me in congratulating her on this great achievement.”
Cogbill holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and fine arts from Houston Baptist University.
