ERS members, retirees elect Barth to Board of Trustees
On July 11, Brian Barth was certified as winner of one of three ERS Board of Trustees seats elected by members and retirees. Barth has more than 30 years state service and is the current director of Project Planning and Development at the Texas Department of Transportation.
The Employees Retirement System of Texas is required by law to hold an election to fill pending Board vacancies before the end of August of every odd-numbered year. Barth replaces Doug Danzeiser, whose term ends August 31. Barth’s term will end in August 2025.
The ERS has administered benefit plans for state employees and retirees since 1947, and the Board of Trustees makes important decisions affecting state retirement and health care programs, the Texa$aver 401(k)/457 program and ERS budgeting.
